BASICS OF GOOGLE’S SERP
Introduction to SEO:
SEO is the process of optimizing any given search word or term for a search engine on your site.
What is SERP ?
SERP full form is the Search Engine Results Page. It is a page for an answer that’s returned to a user following a query into a search engine.

Types of Google SERP.
- Paid Search Results: It is often referred to as a pay-per-click (PPC), it involves advertisers who pay to have their ads highlighted on the SERP. There are two kinds of Paid Search ads that may appear in Google as text ads and shopping ads.
- Local Results: When a user searches for a local business, service, or product, Google responds with either a local pack or a Knowledge Graph – both managed in Google My Business.
a) Local pack : Local pack displayes a snippet of a map alongside 3 local business list-ings, which are dependent on the location of the person searching.
b) Local knowledge graph – it is associated with branded searches, typically related to a particular business location with all the relevant information about a business in one place.
- Organic Results: Organic results are unpaid search results that are ranked based on several factors controlled by SEO. Users click organic results overpaid ads more than 9 times out of 10.
Local Landing Page Layout:
- 8% – Keywords in Heading (h1)
- 38% – Listing with a call to action
- 12% – listing with trust symbols
- 19% – listing with a testimonial
- 34% – listing with a Google Map
- 58% – listing with a photos of staff / building /service
A Well-Optimized Landing Page Should Include:
- Location hours, including special hours for holidays or hours that may differ for specific departments
- A map with a pin indicating the store’s location
- A “get directions” CTA button underneath the map
- Nearby locations information about this location including name, address, and phone number tagged properly with Schema markup
- Photo content can be used showcase the store itself as well as the most popular products or services

Build your keyword list
Research your target Musketeer
1. Forum
- Search for your product or service and add “Forum” (include the speech marks) to your search query. “Keyword”+ “Forum”, “Keyword”+ “Forums”, “Keyword”+ “board”
- Choose the top 5 Forums to research.
- In each forum, try to find a minimum of three things that are being discussed around a product or service related to yours, and add these to your MPRS.
- In each forum, find three pain points that might influence a purchase for your product or service and add to your MPRS.
- In each forum, find three reasons why your Musketeer might not purchase your product or service and add these to your MPRS.
- While researching, find three (or more if you can), keywords or keyword phrases per forum and add them to your KPW.
2. WIKIPEDIA
- Use your search terms to look for similar products or services in your industry, in Wikipedia.
- Make a note of the related searches you’ve found on your Keyword Planner Workbook (KPW).
- Find other phases related to buying choices or common questions and add them to your MPRS.
3.REDDIT
- Search for relatable products or services on Reddit .
- Make a note of related searches on your KPW.
- Find 3-5 keywords or keyword phrases for any phase of the customer buying process and add them to
- your KPW.
- While on Reddit, find other phases of a buying process and add these to your MPRS.
- Find other questions if they are available, of other topics from Reddit that you can add to your MPRS.
4. Google Related Search
Add these Google Related Search terms and phrases to your KPW.
5. Google Suggest
Write in ‘Google Suggest’ in the search bar.
Add the most relevant Google Suggested terms and phrases you can think of and find to your KPW.
Amazon, Ebay Suggest
- Add these Amazon, eBay and other site terms and phrases to your KPW.
- Be mindful of other types of keywords and phrases such as transactional keywords or phrases as these are also useful.
- Add these to your KPW.
7. UBERSUGGEST KEYWORD PLANNER
Login to the Uber Suggest
Find keywords with good volume and add to your planner
Make note of the topics in this section into your keyword planner
8. QUORA
- Type in a phrase relevant to within the service or product you offer.
- Let’s go with ‘Where can I buy Razor blades?’… again!
- Take sentences from these and find common threads that people ask or have answered.
- Check out the topic columns and the keyword columns for optimal referencing.
- Add them to your MPRS.
9. AMAZON REVIEWS
- Go to Amazon.com.
- Search for your product or similar products.
- Look at Amazon’s descriptions and see how you can make yours resemble theirs. Use their marketing
- research brain to take out a lot of guesswork!
- Now go to the reviews section.
- Check out the top sellers and why they sell well. Look at their reviews.
- Research their pain points too- the positives and the negatives- and the reasons why your musketeer
- maybe didn’t buy from them.
- Now add that info to your MPRS.
Advance Tips
- Don’t focus on 1-*2, you should focus on 100+ keywords.
- Aim for low volume keywords under 1k for quick wins inside a year.
- Ranking Time: Low competition – 120 days, medium competition – 320 days, high competition – 1+ years
- Install Facebook pixel to study audience behavior and interest
