NTT DATA Boosts Enterprise AI with Strategic Google Cloud Partnership

NTT DATA has partnered with Google Cloud to enhance AI adoption in enterprises, focusing on scalable solutions and data sovereignty. This strategic alliance will boost digital transformation across various sectors.

Japanese technology giant NTT DATA has formed a comprehensive global partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate artificial intelligence adoption across enterprises. The collaboration targets businesses seeking scalable AI solutions while addressing data sovereignty concerns.

According to NTT DATA’s announcement, the partnership combines deep industry expertise in AI and cloud-native modernization with Google Cloud’s advanced analytics capabilities. This strategic alliance aims to deliver customized enterprise solutions across banking, insurance, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and government sectors.

“This collaboration with Google Cloud represents a significant milestone in our mission to drive innovation and digital transformation across industries,” said Marv Mouchawar, Head of Global Innovation at NTT DATA. “By combining NTT DATA’s deep expertise in AI, cloud-native modernization and enterprise solutions with Google Cloud’s advanced technologies, we are helping businesses accelerate their AI-powered cloud adoption globally and unlock new opportunities for growth.”

The partnership addresses a critical market opportunity. Gartner forecasts global cloud services spending will reach $723 billion in 2025, up from $595.7 billion in 2024. AI deployments in business operations are driving increased reliance on modern cloud infrastructure.

Why It Matters Now

Enterprise leaders face mounting pressure to integrate AI while maintaining data security and regulatory compliance. The NTT DATA-Google Cloud alliance tackles these challenges through sovereign cloud innovation using Google Distributed Cloud technology.

The partnership offers air-gapped deployments for maximum data isolation alongside connected environments that enable secure cloud service integration. This approach addresses data sovereignty requirements in finance, government, and healthcare sectors without compromising innovation capabilities.

“Our partnership with NTT DATA will help enterprises use agentic AI to enhance business processes and solve complex industry challenges,” said Kevin Ichhpurani, President of Global Partner Ecosystem at Google Cloud. “By combining Google Cloud’s AI with NTT DATA’s implementation expertise, we will enable customers to deploy intelligent agents that modernize operations and deliver significant value for their organizations.”

Strategic Advantage

NTT DATA is establishing dedicated infrastructure to support the partnership. The company has created a global Google Cloud Business Group comprising thousands of engineers, architects, and consultants. Plans include certifying 5,000 engineers in Google Cloud technology to strengthen cloud transformation capabilities.

Real-world applications demonstrate the partnership’s potential. In financial services, NTT DATA’s Regla solutions leverage Google Cloud’s scalable AI infrastructure for regulatory compliance and reporting. The hospitality sector benefits from Virtual Travel Concierge technology, which uses Google’s Gemini models to provide personalized customer experiences across more than three million monthly conversations.

Retail giant Carrefour exemplifies successful implementation. The company migrated 380 workloads to Google Cloud through NTT DATA’s expertise, consolidating 100 legacy applications into a modernized e-commerce platform across 200 hypermarkets.

“We’re excited to see the strengthened partnership between NTT DATA and Google Cloud, which continues to deliver measurable impact,” said José Luis González Santana, Head of IT Infrastructure at Carrefour. “Their combined expertise has been instrumental in migrating more than 380 workloads to Google Cloud to align with our cloud-first strategy.”

The partnership centers on NTT DATA’s Takumi GenAI framework, which guides clients from ideation to enterprise-wide AI deployment. Takumi integrates seamlessly with Google Cloud’s AI stack, enabling rapid prototyping and operationalization of AI use cases.

Market Impact in India

This global partnership builds on NTT DATA’s 2024 co-innovation agreement in the Asia-Pacific region and strengthens the company’s acquisition of Niveus Solutions, a leading Google Cloud specialist. Niveus earned recognition with three 2025 Google Cloud Awards, including “Google Cloud Country Partner of the Year – India.”

Indian enterprises stand to benefit significantly from this collaboration. The partnership’s focus on industry-specific solutions, sovereign cloud capabilities, and comprehensive training programs positions local businesses to accelerate digital transformation initiatives while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Both companies are co-investing in global sales and go-to-market campaigns to accelerate client adoption across priority industries. The initiative expands NTT DATA’s Smart AI Agent Ecosystem, which unites strategic technology partnerships, specialized assets, and AI-ready talent to help clients deploy responsible, business-driven AI at scale.
