What is Google Index & How Does It Works?

What is Google Index?

Google’s index is simply a list of all the web-pages that the search engine knows about.  If you want your site to show up in the search results, then it needs to be indexed. Second

So, in easy word Google is like a shopkeeper, who store their products in the shop to sell to the user. Like shopkeeper, Google store information as items that is known as Google Index.

How Does Google Search Works?

Think Google as a Shopkeeper.

1. Crawling – Shopkeeper goes to Vendor and Wholesaler for buy the products, same Google also send the bots to the website for visit and crawl the web-pages.

2. Indexing – Shopkeeper than store products into the warehouse or shop. Same Google store crawled information to their database known as indexing.

3. Ranking – Shopkeeper sales the products based on user requirements, same Google show the webstie list under search result based on users’ interest. It is known as search engine result page and ranking.

So, in short Search engine’s bots visit the website, known as crawling, then store their information, known as indexing, and then show result to the users known as ranking.

Hope you understand now, what is crawling, what is indexing and what is ranking.
